Donald Joseph Qualls, better called DJ Qualls is an American actor producer and fashion model. After gaining fame through his part in Road Trip he has since made appearances in more than 20 feature films including The New Guy Hustle & Flow as well as The Core. Alongside his role as a character in the film, Qualls has been featured in more than 22 television shows, including Breaking Bad Supernatural Srubs Lost Law & Order & others. As a survivor of Hodgkin's Lymphoma, which he was diagnosed with at the age of 14 Qualls is a fighter. After two years of treatment the cancer was cured. The early treatment resulted in severe negative effects on the quality of his life and growth. In his early years, he was familiar with poverty and so financial stability was the main objective. He stated that "I've been living so frugal over the years and I'm looking for financial security because otherwise it will be a nightmare in my case." He looks back on his childhood, and wants to fight bullies. "Cruelty hurts me deeply," he said. DJ's ideal position is to be a father in reels as well as in actual life. He does however admit that directors don't usually cast DJs for these types of role. Someday he would love to become a father in the future, when he could be capable of dedicating less time on his work and more towards his children.
